June Workshop

A few photos from our June 2002 workshop when we had Doug Jones from the Ministry over to give help and advice.
Many thanks Doug

Getting the gear on at the Apiary before commencing

The Hive where this frame came from was deliberatly left in poor condition so we could have a practical demonstration of 'Shook Swarming and Swarm Prevention as well as good housekeeping'
Note the good Brood in the bottom left corner and the chalk brood in the top right.

A very lucky sighting of the Queen. Soon after this photo she was not to be seen again.

The recommended mesh type floor

Samples being taken for Varroa Mites. Fortunatly none found

The Bees being re-housed

An unusual Albino Drone

No flys on us only bees

Our Tutor from the Ministry Doug Jones taking a well earned break after his demonstration
